The Kino Flo Diva-Lite 401 - 5500ºK is a continuous, flicker-free fluorescent light fixture that provides soft, daylight-balanced light. It’s ideally suited for television or film documentary shooting styles, but works well for variety of other shooting situations. The units provide a broad soft and diffuse light that’s great as a cosmetic light source. Their compact size and rugged lightweight nature make them well suited for travel. The built-in electronic ballast provides flicker-free, color accurate output even when powered from a generator.
The Diva-Lite 401 puts out a broad soft wash of light with drop off similar to that of a bounce card / reflector. For this reason it is most effective in close proximity to the subject. The built-in barn doors and detachable louver provides control over the spread of the light. For an even softer light, you can use the 1-stop flozier diffuser. It’s fitted with four Kino Flo True Match 55W 5500ºK compact fluorescent lamps, providing ample light for a quick interview setup with a single light. Light level control is established through an onboard dimmer as well as by 2 and 4 lamp switching, with an attached in-line power cord.
